Amadeus Community Theatre will
bring the mystery, suspense, and thrills of Agatha Christie to their stage when
they present “Witness for the Prosecution” August 8th through the 24th
at their theatre,
Based on the story by Christie, the respected English criminal lawyer Sir Wilfrid Robarts has returned to practice after a heart attack, and is instructed to only represent “unexciting” civil cases. But the case of Leonard Vole, accused of murdering a rich, middle-aged widow, proves an overwhelming temptation. Vole’s only alibi witness is his wife, who agrees to be a witness in the case. But to Sir Wilfrid’s surprise, she’s not testifying for the defense, but for the prosecution! This engaging courtroom drama will have you guessing until the very end.
“Even the best courtroom dramas
of today pale in comparison to Agatha Christie’s works,” says Chuck Burgess,
director of the play for ACT. “Christie
not only wrote the books, but also wrote the plays based on those books. Therefore, the play is just as intense as the
original story.”
Witness for the Prosecution
will run Friday, August 8th through 24th, Fridays and
Saturdays at
